Hi guys:

A friend of mine has a dovehead colomian army sword from the 30's (dead ringer for WWI/WWII German dovehead), and he applied lacquer to the brass hilt many years ago and now regrets it.

The piece originally did not have lacquer and now after 20 years or so air made its way under the lacquer and got really ugly. Anyone know a safe and non abrasive way to remove the laquer?
