Hi
I am looking to get some flakes repaired from an SS grip. Basically its the normal place at the top side of the upper crossguard. What is the best material to fill it with and what is the best stuff to use to put the colour back over it?. Before I get lynched for doing a repair this is a restoration forum! and I dont plan to sell it so its only for my own enjoyment or piece of mind that I would like to repair it. |

The simple way to repair it is to get a piece of ebony, sand off some ebony dust, mix with super glue, and fill the flakes. Then sand it down and polish. The repair wil be practically invisible

Any before and after pictures? Do you have to use super glue, or will a wood glue work just as well? Thanks, John

Use the superglue. Other glues do not dry hard enough
