Hello Janos,
My advise is to leave it as is and display it somewhere, (with all good intentions) once you start messing with something like this it will be evident you did something to it and will have to explain when or if you decide to sell in the future. It would be less desirable to the collector and worth less. If everything else is as good from what we see in the picture leave it be and keep it's original state. Can we see more pictures? Eric |

Janos:
I had the same problem with one of my Lufts. The band came loose, but I found that when I pushed it back to where it was supposed to be (using my fingers only), I wedged it back tight enough to stay and almost exactly where it had originally been. I was lucky, I guess. I wouldn't try doing anything more and sure wouldn't try to force it back. John |

Very nice Janos, i would not do anything that might ruin the value it looks good displayed just like that IMO. Thanks for sharing.

Use a drop of loctite & let it sit for a day to dry. It will hold it just enough & is not permanent. I have done this twice on army daggers that came loose & it worked perfectly. I could use force & pull the Scabbard Band loose again if I wanted to, but it held enough that it took some effort.
Best Regards, Scott R. |
