Didn't bother taking many blade shots, the tip is broken.
Main consideration here obviously in the chain & scabbard. Any comments welcome. Doug |

No, far as I'm aware they can be early, transitional or RZM.

Crazy Horse check the threads on chained NSKK and you will find most are RZM.Field upgrade as they are called are TM and have a different chain link

To the purist they are always RZM and M7/66 Eichorn. Anything other than that can be a hard sell (think makermark chained SS daggers)

Skynyrd,
Personally, I'm concerned and have a bit of a problem with the oval holes on the links for the connecting rings. I believe that these 'round holes' are a red flag and indicative of a (1960's) bad chain. Again personally, I question the cross guard engraving that seemingly is attributed to the WKC manufacturer and being a questionable purpose. Why? However as I say, these are simply my personal observations and may be contrary to the posters giving their "yeas" Respectfully, John |

Appreciate the input, I'll see if I can find some suitable accepted example chains for comparisons.

Any stampings on the chain links?

Not sure, I examined this under some fairly strange circumstances, lets say the lighting was pretty dim.
There were about 12 other daggers on the table as well, including an SS, RAD leader, the forestry blade which I posted in the forestry section, multiple Heer daggers, Lufts and a few bayonets. I could get this NSKK for a very reasonable price, might have to bring a flashlight or something to view it properly. I know the later chains were prone to corrosion & pitting unlike the earlier models, this one seems extra ratty though, just didn't have a solid feel. Anyone know if there is a weight difference between the early chains and these later ones ? Doug |
