Hey Guys,

I just received this awesome dagger into my collection, and thought I`d share it with you Wink
Whats particularly nice about it, is the unit stampings on the crossguard and scabbard mouth!

My question is, and I suppose this has been asked a million times already, where and whom can I contact, in regards to doing some research on SA daggers?

Cheers,
Dion

Nice dagger Dion!

Here's the thread mentioned by Mark. The link to the research paper is embedded in the first post.

http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/160093573/...880054304#6880054304

I suggest the thread should be pinned, as information on numbered SA's is often sought, and Gustavo has unselfishly provided a valuable document which should be easy to access.

Regards
Russell

Dion, is that a green circle around the roundel? Confused What is this? Can you post a close up of the roundel?

You really need to remove the green verdigries from the surface of the silver rim on the SA runic symbol as it will, in time, etch the surface and leave it dull. This is usually caused by a leather product being close to the nickel silver content fittings.

Hey Ron,

Do you have any advice on what to use to remove that verdigries?? I tried a little with a toothbrush, but it seems to have already started etching itself into the silver rim?? I dont really wanna use anything harsh, but it looks like I`m gonna have to use some sort of polish or Chemical??? Any Advice!?

Thanks,
Dion

The verdigris should come off with just a 100% cotton cloth and some gentle pressure with your fingernail. Just be careful not to cause pressure indents in the wood. Anything you use to clean it can remove the finish from the wood around it. John
