Opinions on this dagger would be appreciated. I have requested additional photos but have not yet received them. The dagger is supposedly Eickhorn but I thought the gilding on Eickhorns chain and fittings was general lighter. The chain is magnetic and supposedly made by Assmann. Thanks -

Gordon

Ask to see if the crossguards are copper plated on the inside. The paint has an odd look to it.Marine NSKK are a hard sell. For such a rare daggerI see them for sale all over the web.

Florida,
See if they can send you a pic of this part.
IMO the color is off and I don't care for the plating. Doesn't seem standard to me. On originals it was more of a copper color and plating was very thin and wore off quite easily.

This is from a RZM 1940 7/66 (Eickhorn)

Gordon,
I've never seen one marked in that fashion. Originals will have a "umlat" over the first "u" in "korpsfuhrung". On this example the first "u" extends further than all the other letters. Also the letters are of a different font and spacing on the link.
Also I don't like the color...it's way off IMO.

Unless it is a type that I have not seen...I don't think it is original. Perhaps some of our other members can state otherwise.
But for some of us on these we used to have a rule "If no umlat - NO good".

Hope this helps.
