It looks fine to me!. I am pretty sure the figures are just assembly numbers, are the fittings plated?, possibly has had a blade replaced?. How does the scabbard look.

The "P. A." is the mark of the company that cast the fittings. I am not sure about the "69", very interesting.
I think the dagger looks "OK" to me as well, I don't see anything wrong with it.

This dagger has liked me. But my basic question in conformity of year of manufacturing of a dagger, crossguard type and type of an eagle in grip. Color of an eagle - brightly grey (!).

Johnny V is correct. That dagger is OK. The P.A. is the maker of the crossguards and the numbers are purely some assembly mark put on for some reason at the time. No big deal at all. The eagle is nice as is the rest of this dagger.

Priviet Ilya

P&A stands for Piel and Adey, the maker of the crossguard

"At the beginning of the twentieth century, Carl Piel and Carl Adey founded the company PIAD, the name by which it is known today. In 1923, the company founders obtained a patent for their "process for the manufacture of contoured metal parts of high melting alloys with more than 50 per cent copper by die casting"; since 1935, the casting of pure copper has also been possible."

The dagger is a match to the scabbard. You have a 1940 Eickhorn NSKK Model 1936 dagger. I find
the 1940 date to be the most common for some reason. I have seen both 3 and 4 links for the
upper chain, but always 5 on the lower. From the photos I first thought it was a early nickel silver type. The blade is a NSKK blade.
I can not see anything wrong with this dagger.

I thought those crossguards were nickel on an rzm eick. The grip was fitted to the guards and both stamped with the same number to keep them together. Ilya was hiding the scabbard. Shame on you Ilya Big Grin Big Grin

And i would hazzard to guess that if you were looking for a "textbook" example of a chained NSKK,this would be it...Eickhorn RZM,benchmarked..most likely a wide throat..good catch.. Smile
