I have seen a lot of these Carlos Kramer (Kraemer?) daggers over time. Does anyone have any information on who this guy was? To give away that many daggers you would think he would be historically prominent in the SA. The daggers seem to be mostly early fittings by a wide range of makers but also some transitionals with later fittings. Any opinion on these? Charlie

I've just been offered an SA with inscription about Carlos Kramer.
Are these inscriptions post war added? Here are some pictures.
This dagger is marked 'RZM M7/1/38', and i've been told there is some small research been done on it.

Could anyone comment on this for me?

Thanks

I believe Tom Wittmann is going to deal some with the Carlos Krammer daggers in his upcoming book. Tom has handled several of these. Hopefully this will provide us with some insight into these daggers. Next to the Rohm daggers probably the most populus SA presentation type blade. Charlie

These Kramer pieces are 100% legit.
Charlie is correct in that Whittmann has been collecting information on this "character".
There were several diffreent version of this presentation by Kramer over time which will be discussed in Whitty's upcoming SA book.

Well today the dagger came in the post.

Its a nice looking RZM with a great blade. 100% burnishing to both sides, and lots of crossgrain visible.
The inscription is the same depth as the motto, and has the same burnishing.
The crossguard to grip fit isnt perfect, and the eagle does stick out a bit. But i presume this is due to it being a later RZM.
Any thougts on this piece would be much appreciated.
Sorry for all the pictures, but hopefully they show ever detail.
