I only buy daggers with nice blades now, I passed this one up a few times but ended up buying it today. The blade was nice enough but the handle had seen a bit of action..

I have always gone after the blade first, grip second and scabbard last. Particularly since I do not store the blades in their scabbards. As the old saw goes "the money is in the blade".
