Hello,

Presented here is a Gemeindenpolizei ensemble that has taken some time to assemble. The dark red carmine is a very difficult branch color to find. The named eagles are particularly rare.

Yes, I realize the schirmmutze is that of an officer and the tunic and NCO. I looked for the cap for three years and wasn't about to turn this one down because it wasn't an NCO's!

The GemPo was the civil police in small municipalities not covered by a Schutzpolizei unit. They were hired and uniformed by the involved municipal government and consequently do not always adhere to strict 1936 uniform regulations.

The GemPo was absorbed into the SchPo early in the war , so most artifacts found date from the early TR period.

Sorry for the less than artistic photography, and flash shadows.

Here is an overview.

really beautiful indeed; unquestionably rare to see all together like this.

about the pix: a way to eliminate shadows, bill, is by moving the maniken toward the camera, away from the wall. ;-)

Hello,

Thanks for the compliments. I was very happy to finally put this group together.

Thanks also for the hint re: shadows. Unfortunately this being Japan, my butt is against the other wall already Big Grin Not a lot of space in these closets they call rooms.

I usually move them to a bigger space to photo but was lazy last night.

Bill,

Excellent ensemble of a rather rare and difficult to find polizei branch! It all looks great together despite the rank! Again, another excellent display!
