While re-reading this thread it occurs to me that we have no Feuerwehr uniforms. So, here is a uniform for the professional Firemen. It has malino police style insignia but this one is an early style without malino piping on the collar and cuffs.

Finally, here is a later Feuerwehr Officer tunic showing the malino piping on the collar and the cuffs.

The collar tabs are the NCO style with metal litzen and malino colored backing.

Perhaps we can get the East German Polizei thread back on track with some more DDR items.

Here is another DDR Feuerwehr uniform. This one is for a female of the Volunteer Fire Department (FFW).

Here is a very early FFW wool uniform with a closed collar. This uniform is for a male Sergeant. Notice that this tunic is piped.

Here is an example of the ABV uniform. These were typically officers that were considered to be involved in "Community Policing" from the point of view of the East Germans.

ABV officers wore the same uniform as other Volkspolizei with the addition of the distinctive shoulder patch.

I just got this great set of collar tabs and shoulder boards for the DDR -Umweltschutz und Wasserwirtschaft---Environmental Protection and Water Conservation Police . Now I need a tunic to put them on !
