I got this great Polizei-unit photo last Saturday at a small gun-show in Belleville, IL. Sorry, no date on the back --but from the many "oldtimers " in this photo , I would guess it was taken 1943/44. As you can see there is an LT. at the center with a service time ribbon and nice officer's sleeve eagle ; the Meister next to him on his left has the officer's chin cord on his cap , while all other NCO's just have the leather strap on their caps . All EM wear overseas caps . Posted by Bernd.

Bernd,

Very neat uniform details in the photo. I can't quite make out what the cross worn by the HWm on his left pocket is. Can you tell if it is a IC I or something else? It looks like something else to me.

George : It is an EK 1ST Class--just has a nice and wide silver frame ; and below it is a black Wound Badge . Did you also notice that some of the EM tunics do not have the brown cuffs and collar anymore ?? Bernd.
