Hello,

Here are my Ordnungspolizei officer's eagles. Represented are a one and two piece schirmmutze eagle, a summer white tunic eagle, a matt gray field uniform eagle, a bullion and cellulon service uniform eagle and a standard "bright" bullion service uniform eagle.

The new additions are the two heavy paper templates that were used to embroider these. These templates were glued down to the backing material and the eagle was embroidered on top. Two different patterns are represented. The "tan" template with the long legs seems to match the white eagle, while the gray could be used for any of the others.

Since each officer's eagle was individually embroidered they are all different, and there are not really identifiable "patterns" or makers as is the case with enlisted eagles.

Regards,
William Unland

Bill, excellent and comprehensive collection you have! I always enjoy seeing your displays and only wish I had the motivation to do the same, maybe one of these days.

In regard to officer grade bullion eagles, there are certainly some fantastic and well executed examples out there and agree about not being “identifiable” patterns. Or at least from what I’ve seen and maybe that is due to less frequency than other ranks, although all my examples seem to have there own unique style to be appreciated.
