Greetings all.

I've recently purchased a FN P35 otherwise known as a Hi Power. By the markings I've discovered that it was a West German police issue and that it was made in 1952. It has all matching serial numbers even the magazine and holster serial numbers match the gun.

It does however have curious engravings, someone using an engraver has etched 8 digit inventory? or some kind of numbers onto every major piece of the pistol, magazine and the back of the holster. If anyone has any insight into these numbers or any addition knowlege about the side arms of that period it would be appreciated.

I'm trying to sell this firearm and holster and I'm thinking of making a display case that includes West German polizei insignia from the early 50s. I'm having a hard time finding any references or examples of what they looked like in those days because it seems there was little uniformity right after the war. Any help in this department would also be appreciated.
