Greetings! How rare is the Police green TENO uniform? I am having a hard time finding one for sale, or a value.

They are very difficult to find as is the insignia. This is particularly true of the black sleeve eagles.

Well here's mine... just came in today. Sorry you have to read this TWICE Dave!

It is a POLICE TENO tunic (look at the color compared to a Heer M36). I have asked the seller for more info, but from what I know already I think this was an unissued tunic that wound up being worn for a short time by a civilian after the war. There is no indication of any prior insignia (minus the ghost of a Heer eagle that was sewn on post-war and removed). It's mint minus a few moth bits and some unfortunate moth tracking on the back. My reasoning for the civilian use theory is because there is tobacco in the chest pocket (so somebody wore it) and it came with odd, civilian tailored boards made of separate pieces of similar material. The size is huge... a US 44 Jacket. Here are the pics (I had to put them on Flickr because the forum would only allow teeny tiny pics).

Congratulations on finding a correct TN-Pol tunic. Almost all of them I have seen have been stripped like yours. They are of course simply the standard police tunic with the addition of Teno property stamps.

I thought the TENO Police tunic was also unique by virtue of it's pleated lower pockets and (to my eyes anyway) smaller chest pockets?

Some of the later wartime police field tunics had pleated lower pockets. I think this was allowed by regulations for a period of time. It is not unique to TN-Pol tunics.

Here is the TN-Pol greatcoat with the same style TN property markings as your tunic. Notice that this coat has a collar of the same color and material as the coat with black piping.

The Schiffchen were also unique in that they had the later style piping in black. The TN-Pol tunics were only distinguished by the distinctive mixed Teno and Police style insignia, which changed a bit over time.

The black piping is beautiful!
