thanks for the excellent photo of the generals` strap its a real beauty the silver /gold/silver however was used by the diplomatic corps and ministeries i believe

That could be, although I'm not familiar with dipo corps and others (I'm just a polizei nutt!). Perhaps a good question to ask in the political uniforms forum.

Hello,

All general officers were SchuPo so all wore green backed tabs. There were no SchuPo. D. Gemeinden Polizei Generals, and as I recall only pre-war Gendarmerie generals.

Thanks for the info. What about the belts of the polizeibeamte were they brown or black as I seem to remember seeing brown being quoted somewhere?

Brown belts & leather goods were primarily used by the Gendarmerie...take a look at the Gendarmerie Uniforms thread. Schupo utilized black. Hope that helps!

thanks again Dave:Here`s another, the polizei portepees in the angolia sword book it describes the knot silver with green stripes as Schp.d Reiches & the silver knot as Schp.d Gemeinden,yet others say that the striped one was for the bayonet n.c.o.& the silver for the officers degen.Do you which is correct if any?
