I found them this weekend. Both are in very nice condition. Both are matching. Both have dated frogs. The 1938 has a 1938 dated frog. The 1940 has a 1942 dated frog. Never sharpened. No rust. I am cleaning the dried grease off the blades right now. I'll post pictures in the morning.

Can anyone give me more information on this maker? What kind of numbers were produced during these years?

Thanks in advance.

Captain, the Herder 1938 as a production figure of approx 64.000 units, and the 1940 is 58.000.
Meaning they are neither rare, nor common.

If it's '44 dated, I need it!

Well they may not be common, and they may not be rare, but I think they are both nice.

BTW, I looked at two 1944 bayos today.
