Is this a variation frog or for something other than this bayonet - any help appreciated.

Russell, First the easy part. No, the frog is NOT German Wink. Whereas the bayonet probably is but I can't read the markings.

While it’s really out of my area, I checked the late Anthony Carter’s book to see what I could see. The frog appears to be a British “Pattern 1914 Leather Infantry Equipment Belt Frog” (variant). I hope this helps.

Sidenote: A true gentleman and scholar - with Anthony's very untimely passing I’m afraid that we may never see his second volume of German blade makers. A loss of not just his knowledge and considerable talents, but also a friend. Frown Frown
