Here is an interesting reproduction S84/98 being sold as a repop. Who said they would never repop this most common of bayonets?

Not likely to fool an experienced collector but one can still buy mismatched real examples of this bayonet for around $50. Never let your guard down and be careful out there.

Hello G., from the pommel shape and thin crossguard, one could say the model was polish Wz.28 and not german 98k. best regards,Andy

I guess you could call it anything since it is close to either bayonet but no cookie. And, the pommel is similar to the Wz.28 but it is square cut instead of cut on an angle with wooden grips. I suppose it could have been made for theatrical purposes like the one piece castings made for movies like "Saving Private Ryan."
