this is a spanisch M1893/14 artillerie bayonet.

(the M1893, also called M1893 first Modell, is differnet...is in germay produced and looks like a german SG71/84)

please have a look an the balde... there must be the indiscribtion "ARTILLERIA Fca. DE TOLEDO" and a serial number.

Maker is the famos knife and sword maker "Fabrica de Toledo" with a traditon of hundreds of years.

cool, any idea how much it would run for? No intent of selling it, just curious. thanks yes it does read like that, but it is barely legible. it's a C date serial number.

I'm seeking info and advice on a bayonet I purchased recently. I have serial numbers and the makers mark, but don't have much info outside of that. It is a 1944 K98 Bayonet I believe, and has the "crs" and "44" marks on both the scabbard and blade, as does the serial number with lot number. If my memory serves me correctly it is "a" lot and serial number of 3586, but will have to refer to the peice itself for sure. I'm unsure of it's value, and have taken note of being preyed upon by people who love newbies to these forums to scam them out of their treasures. I'm mainly interested in getting additional info on it mainly it's history or anything related. I am then seeking to find out it's value, and I understand it may depend on it's rarity/collectibility/condition. All that said, I would appreciate any comments. I will post pictures when I get some better ones taken.

Regards,

JP

crs = code of the maker "Paul Weyersberg § Co. Solingen"
44= making year

3586 a = serial number,
WaA (Wehrmachts-waffenamt) conract = And means the 13 586 example made bei crs in 1944 for the Wehrmachts-Waffenamt (not SS, Police, Post or others).

to say more i need informations about the condition. the best will be pictures.

Underneath the grips I found a few things that might further identify this bayonet. I also wanted to know if the numbers stamped on the inside of grips should match or not. I unscrewed the grips to see if there were other marks that might have some significance, and what I saw were two different stamped letters under the handgrips but on the actual bayonet not the grips. There is a lower case "i" on one side and what appears to be a lower case "l" or "r" on the other side of it. I didn't know if these marks had any meaning or could identify the item further. I will have images eventually, but for now I can just give descriptions. It does have very light surface rust on the scabbard and on the butt of the bayonet.
