Guys, I just picked up a 20 cm. blade KS 98 Bayonet with a trademark that I believe to be from J.E. Dittert & Co./J. Dennhardt of Neustadt im Sachsen. I have not seen this trademark before and I don't beleive this to be in Terry's Book (although I can't find my 2008 addendum). Anyone else seen this trademark or have additional info? Thanks Terry! My I.D. came from the Fisher Book which has only a line drawing for Dittert/Dennhardt. The Dittert/Dennhardt T.M. shown there has the double outlined triangle (like mine) but the internal device is different than Plumacher's. Whereas Plumacher's T.M. has an internal device similar to mine but with only a singular outline on the triangle. I wonder if there was ever a trademark dispute between these Companys who alledgedly both made SA Daggers! Anyone have a photo of a Dittert/Dennhardt SA Dagger "Triangle" style Trademark?---Jeff Bernish/Tenmile Creek Antiques

I did some checking around (thanks SA/NSKK Forum) Terry and I believe your I.D. of the trademark on my bayonet to be the the most probable to be correct. Although there are slight differences, Plumacher's trademark with Company name is closer to mine than Dittert's Trademark with company name. Plumacher's triangle type (Isosceles) and the actual shape of the internal device/symbol conforms more to the T.M. on my bayonet than does Dittert's which has a more equallateral triangle and a slightly different internal device/symbol. But you probably already knew this Big Grin. Anyway, I hope my research is helpful to someone!---Jeff/Tenmile Creek Antiques

Jeff,
Nice KS98! I have seen only about 3 or 4 of these previously. The general consensus of opinion is Plumacher. Whenever they have popped up on eBay, the price has been high.

Nice bayonet and one that I don't have.

I had a chance to buy one about a year ago but could not justify the high price for it. Quess I'm a cheap bastard. Smile

They're not common but they're out there. Very poor plating on the pommel & crossguard but the blade was mint. Terry can appreciate this, the price was right Smile Now if someone finds a fire piece with this logo, we should talk!

Terry, I don't think you're a cheap bastard - I just wanna know how you got the word "bastard" past the infopop censor when I can't even offer you a ****tail without getting nailed.
(let that read c o c k tail).

Denny

Since the forum has financial problems they had to fire the censor Smile so that leaves me the co-moderator and I don't know what words need to be censored.
