Got VERY lucky to have a very nice friend who bought this one on a flea market yesterday, thinking I'll like it, and I DO !!!

It's a ACS COPPEL SOLINGEN 1937 blade in a S/173 1937 scabbard, matching serial number and letter block.
Condition is close to mint considering it's a pre-war made.
I'll post pictures tonight.

If it's '44 dated, I need it!

I notice a combination of trademark and manufacturer's name. Is this normal for a Coppel in 1937?

Unfortunally very small numbers are known from 1937, so the transition to full name had probably more variations, this is unknown area, great piece, certainly it could be that some blanko pieces were restamped in late 1937, the bard is still of numeral code. best regards,Andy

Amsfelder, this combination is pretty unusual. Happen sometimes on couple hundreds of bayonets during the switch from a code to a trademark or from code to code.
I know three exemples like this:

Rich Herder1940/clc40
http://k98.free.fr/RichHerder%20clc%201940-482.html

And some 44asw/44sgx I don't have pics to illustrate.

It's a little bit like some double dates, at the transition between two years. Such as the ab42/43 or 43/42fnj (but not the 43/44asw which is clearly a 1944 production).

I just purchased a second Rich.Herder/clc 1940 bayonet 300 digits away from my first one.

So at least 300 like this one exist. Anyone has one like this?
