III/Flsch. Jg. R. 1 is III Abteilung Fallschirmjäger Regiment 1.

(also can be found the stamp III/FJR 1)

but it is not sure this item had been used by paratropper... more groud personal/staff. most pictueres shows frogs ith retainging straps... because it is a matter of fakt the bajonetts had to secure.

Most original Fallschirmjáger photo I have seen is the frog without straps and I think that it is because they were very mobile?
They jumped nomalt never with any kind of equipment!
Udrustnige was thrown down for themselves.
The frog looks great next to ME!
Fin things Henrik.

Hi Henrik is the frog found in denmark?
III/FJR 1 under 7. Flieger-Division, jumped over Denmark (Falster, Aalborg), 9.4.40.
Perhaps a Jáger had forgotten it there?

yes i study my pics and dokumnets.

99% of the pics shows paaratroppers without bayonet and the most other belt-fieldgear...most with pistol and or MP or carabiner.

the pics who shown bayontes they have mixed frogs. some with opened retaining straps.
but i found one who shows very good a frog without (or removed) strap.

DAK always bear straps.

but of course...this is a very nice frog and a scare stamp.

Gardist, how would you translate in english "Luftgau-Nachrichten" ?

I have many frogs with regimental markings, I'll take pics of them and post them so it might be usefull for your
records.

Please do correct me if I´m wrong: A Gau was an administrative district. Germany and its occupied territories were devided into Gaue, and each was led by a Gau Leader who was a member of the Nazi party. Apart from the Gaue on land, for air defence purposes, the airspace was also devided into Gau areas, which were not neccessarily the same as the Gau´s on the ground. I would translate Nachrichten in this case by signal corps or communications group. So it was an airdefence communications unit based in the Hannover area, if I understand it correctly.

In this case i have doubts about the correct designation of the unit stamp, when Luftgau as a part of territory of Germany, is then I. not for Abteilung but more the Nr.of the Luftgau and a Nachrichten Regiment, this unit important in Luftschutz system.Or the Lg means other.best regards,Andy

roman Numbers always stands für the Abteilung... it is necessary, because the differnt Abteilungen often not stationed on the same place...or chanced to a other luftgau.

the regiment was stationed in a luftgau...so this is the only information we have to lokalize the place.

the regiment 11 was stationed in hannover. from Juli 1938 until Oktober 1944.

Luftgau-Commando I was stationed in Königsberg (east-prussia)

Hannover was the Lauftgau (kommando) XI.

so the I can´t be the number of the Luftgau.
