Hi, there !

I bought this dagger, (knife), many years ago at a little flea-market.
Till now I never showed this knife anywhere in the www. ...

I´m interested in bayonets and fighting knive´s but I think, this is an "good-one", isn´t it ?

Cheers,

R.

Italian San Marcos dagger.

You might want to do a search of the forums on this one. For the most part these are modern pieces. Here is the best link I can find.

Hi. On the ricasso I see a shadow...:usually, as explained, the best copies of these rare daggers were made by a forger called Del Tin, who clearly apposed his logo on the ricasso just to recognize his daggers as post war reproductions. Mostly, this logo is scratched out by the fakers and the dagger sold as original. This is the common fake, and this is the easiest way to recognize the fake. Also, 'taste' the tip: is it a 'real' tip ? I mean, in the repros tips were not perfectly...killing tips. The handle is for sure bakelite (try with a burning needle under the washer)..and that washer ??

Hi !

This is bakelite for sure, I do not need a hot needle because a little piece of the grip broke out.

What do you mean with "washer" ? ...

Cheers,

R.

P.S.:
I bought this dagger apx. 15 yrs. ago at a flea market for motorcycle-parts.
I´ve had to pay 200,-- Austrian Schilling´s, (today: 15,-- Euro´s).
