Looks nice. What an odd method of mounting the chain. I wonder if it was intended to have a leather mount instead and the chain was an after thought. The quality of the chain is not the same as the dagger.

Nice and interesting dagger!

But why do you think it is Danish?
In my opinion the crown looks more like a spanish type.

Best regards,

Danish Daggers are pretty well documented going back before 1850. This does not have characteristics of any of them I know of.

My first impression of the scabbard is that it is similar to the reproduction scabbards we see on Hungarians.

Zet, what is your opinion of the age of this dagger and scabbard based on materials and your experience?

It is an attractive dagger.

Hi Jim it is very strange. The dagger on first sight looks to be originall. The grip is made of originall bone. The crossguard and the pommel are made of steel with pepering similar like in medieval arms. The scabbard is made of very thin material it is not steel .It is a sign of repro but who knows.Personally I saw this dagger in a guy who has a few copies but he has also nice originall daggers.I will post Austrohungarian dagger from his colection in my opinion nice and orignall.Ted
