Recently a European collector notified me that he had seen a fake Austrian Air Force dagger. Now on eBay you can buy one for $999 from the usual source in Hungary. This price is less than half of what a real M1935 Air Force dagger is worth. It's sad to see the rare Austrian daggers go the way of the Hungarians as the fakes definitely affect the value of the real daggers.

I do not think that you will get an original of an austrian air force dagger for even around $1998.
There are very prominent differences between those hungarian fakes and an original one.
Onc you have had both in front of you the fakes are very easy to detect. Beside the outer form (also differing in length) there is nothing what both daggers have together.

Have you seen the latest version Wotan. Zet sent me photos of one and from the photos it appeared an in hand inspection would be necessary to spot differences even in the grip.
I will try and find the photos to post.

This guy is pushing tons of fake hungarian and austrian daggers both on allegro and ebay. Sadly he does not mention those are reproductions. Have all his detalis if anyone interested.

Poor guy - he say he paid 600PLN (200USD) each himself per piece which I doubt but possibly he was also tricked.

BTW. This is the pile I was offered for sale ...possibly hungarian origin.
