This is on Ebay right now.

I think it is ok, but for some reason I am not sure on this. Any others opinions?

Jim

I can't really see any detail in the one on your auction Ted, but I think that might be it on this one.

The grip looks like the 90's reproduction grip. The crossguard is not as bold as I would like and the photos of the blade are lousy.

I am not saying I won't bid on it, but it worries me.

I'm not sure about one on Allegro (bad photos) but the eBay dagger looks good to me.
The yellow/orange grip looks like bakelite or trolon (rather common).
What worries me is the bunch of shipping restrictions incl. refusal to shipping to Poland.
I have shipped many items to Poland without any problems.
However recently have had a lot of problems with shipping to US (one sword seriously damaged, one dagger delivered on wrong address and two daggers lost....).
I wonder if would be OK to state on my future auction "WILL NOT SHIP OR SELL TO US. TOO MANY POSTAL PROBLEMS.”???

Ted

Ted,
It's the same seller but the dagger is different.
The old one is without Borowski hallmark - the new one is signed.

Walter, Hi,

The grip does not have that orange look to it the originals have. It could be lighting, but the grip clearly more resembles the color of some of the reproductions.

But that is not conclusive.

Also. A friend of mine in Poland is having me ship things to him Fed X at 4 times the expense because he does not trust the Polish Postal system. I think he is wrong, but you can not lay it on all us non polish Americans when the poles don't trust their own system.

My real fear is that this is the latest generation of reproductions and they have eliminated at least one of the major flaws.

Aleksandr, do you remember if the first time he sold this, did it go to Poland?

Jim >>i cannot remember for sure >>what i remember is that the seller sent me the close up pictures and i even posted them on Forum the maker mark was positioned horizontally though (incorrect positioning) >>>and we have discussed the positioning>>>the red flag was that >the pommel was held by the screw >>>For me to pay this kind of money >>i would probebly have to hold the dagger in my hands to know the originality >>not even that >>>i am not a big expert in those >>in any case (But those obvious red flags any collector would probebly see)

Aleksandr
