This should be in the "Haven't the foggiest" but since that no longer exists, here it is.

All I know is that it was given to my father about 10 years ago from a cousin of mine who had worked in Africa. Uganda I think or Rwanda. Not sure.

It measures approximately 34 inches long. Handle with blade is about 20 inches long. Blade was very rusty even when given to my father.

Handle has African faces carved on it and I think it's polished wood. Almost a rusty orange colour. Brass wire is bound around part of it where the top of two headds meet.

Scabbard is made out of wood. About 2/3 is made of two pieces of wood bound together with brass wire. The bottom 1/3 is one piece of wood. The langet is a piece of metal.

The whole thing is in sad shape but I'm curious to know if anyone can identify it.
