I was surprised when have found out that the eagle on hanger looks in other side in comparison with other examples. Why at it such difference?

Nice looking set up with the deluxe scabbard. I can not tell if the ball unscrews or not, but nice.

We had a similar discussion regarding these Eagles and the way they faced. Our conclusion, after seeing both styles in the collectors books, is that it is legitimate but we do not know why other than our guess it just varied betwen manufacturers.

Anyone else have updated infor?

Very nice dagger mate. I have an identical one. The eagle is facing to the left on my hangers. These leather hangers are quite difficult to get, especially with respect to the delicate leather they used.
These daggers fetch a tidy sum nowadays, and I haven't been able to go past only one in my collection.

it appears from fredrick stephens book "italian fascist daggers" that m.v.s.n. leaders daggers eagles face to the left while g.i.l. youth leaders daggers eagles face to the right.

It is very interesting information. In Johnson's reference book I have met a mention of the youth leader's dagger too.

On auction has seen this magnificent photo. It has very much liked me.

hi to all and to Jim!!!

about the eagle in the hanger i make a little study from the top collector here in italy, all agreed that was different manufacture, there is more and more original period photo where show both eagle , and there isn't a particular one form the left or the right used for particular army force like gil.
there is instead different eagle (with fascio under the claws or similar) that was used my musketters or alfiere federal or for high rank general

the serrations on the scabbard bands suggest that this is a G.I.L leaders dagger not an M.V.S.N. dagger which has plain bands
