Who polished the dagger.

It makes it very difficult to tell if a dagger is original or not when someone puts a high polish on it.

The dagger looks correct.

Thanks for your response
The seller has done it unfortunately, but glad to hear that it looks like a good one anyway.

Toby,
welcome to the forum.
Weneed more than just a statement like yours. When i compare this to the original, Except for the polished look including the grips, it is the same in my eyes.

So, please explain yourself

I agree with Jim. The dagger looks good to me. So far I haven't encountered a reproduction Slovak Army dagger.

Hello,
the dagger is in my collection now, I bought it a few months ago.
To me it looks absolutely correct.
It is slightly different than my other Slovakian Officer dagger, but I think there were not only one maker of these daggers, so differences could be normal.
The above-mentioned example looks the same what Mr. Glemser shows in his reference vol. 1. on page 45.
There is another twin of the dagger in Berger's reference on page 244 on the left.
So I am satisfied with the dagger. Smile
