Hi !

What do yo think ´bout this norwegian Krag-Jorgensen M 1916 bayonet ?

The bayo´s chromed and look´s a little "overworked", (wooden grip´s seems polished and the scabbard looks also overworked ... ?).

But I know, actually there´re Krag M 1894 chromed bayonet´s ...

All the stamps on this M 1916 are quite "deep" and it don´t seem´s, that the blueing was ground off roughly so I think, the bayo look´s legit anyway ... ?

Chromed bayonets for example were used as "Parade bayonet´s".

What´s your opinion ?

Cheers,

R.

Hi,
There are no official deliveries of any variations of Krag m/1894 bajo's with chrome finish. All should have natural metal finish on the bajonet-parts, scabbard usually black painted. (except model 1944 - blued finish on all parts).

Probably someone has done this to "enhance" it..

There are no special parade-bajonets in Norway since 1894 anyway ;-)

Cheers,

No. Garand's are standard black bajo's in the drill-coy, but with a special black leather hanger.

Also the guards G-3 (AG-3 here..) bajo's have black plastic grip and a special black leather hanger on the G-3 bajo-scabbard.

Cheers,

Have to add that some, and then especially the HMKG take a lot of pride in polishing/cleaning their kit, as all good soldiers do... Wink So quite a few of these HMKG bajo's have lost their original blueing over the years.

Best,
