I have been doing photos of my daggers and came accross one of the rarest of modern daggers.
This is the Danish Female Army Officers Dagger For real, Only about 6 made as I understand it. Similar to the Air Force dagger except for blade markings and the cross guard. 1st photo is comparitive |

Beautiful dagger Jim. Thanks for showing it.
While on the female daggers, here is an interesting fact. In the 50-s one of the Soviet regulations specifically stated that women officers cannot wear a dress dagger. |

Yes, I heard there was a lot of sexual harrassment in the Russian military. If you gave the females daggers, there would not be enough doctors to take care of the wounded.
Seriously, there are other countries with female spefic daggers and they do not do well financially even though they are rare. Jim |

The Chilean Army currently has a dagger for female officers. One example I saw was made by Bermejo, Toledo, however, this Spanish firm is now out of business.

Kurt, ae you sure? I hope to take Pat there in a couple of months
http://www.bermejoswords.com/espadas.html "The Spanish swordmaking tradition is centered on The City of Toledo, and Bermejo, S.A. has been the faithful keeper of this tradition since 1910. At the moment Bermejo, S.A. is the oldest company dedicated to this activity and is the number one producer of military sword and sabers in the world. Armies of the five continents adorn their uniforms with Bermejo 's swords. The respect for the classic manufacturing procedure and the experience of Bermejo´s workers, in the working of the steels, together with the special attention paid to quality are the secret of Bermejo, S.A." Toledo is still the Spanish Solingen, Sheffield, as it was 600 years ago |

In response to Gustavo's question if I'm sure that Bermejo has closed, I don't have personal knowledge, I'm going by what a friend of the owners' has told me. Unfortunately, Bermejo, like a lot of edged weapons companies, does not see fit to respond to questions by collectors or researchers. I would be happy to hear that they are still in business as too many of the old edged weapons factories are going by the wayside.

These daggers were all produced by Solingen Manufacturers and the quality is there, even though post war.

Kurt, you were right. Bermejo went out of business earlier this year, but Mato of Toledo took over their employees and their contracts http://www.marto.es/
