I must say that they do look really nice Jim. They are not easy to locate & I have seen very few. Those are in outstanding condition! I have never given them more than a passing thought & that is because I once made the mistake of buying a Bulgarian dagger. I thought it was very cheap & nasty & got rid of it immediately. Just didn`t want to take that chance with anything from the soviet block again. How would you appraise the quality of workmanship & materials?

You are not the first one to be turned off on non German Daggers because of quality. These East German Daggers are actually quite well built. You will bind other East Block countries that have fine daggers. Pre 1989 Polish daggers as well as the rare Ukrainian daggers are particularly well built. Here is a photo of a Russian award dagger. This is as tight as any solingen built dagger. But for the most part, these East block daggers make good fillers and they are still priced ok. I would point out that we were buying soviet Russian daggers just a year ago for about $100. Now they go for $250. Jim
