Just wanted to start a blog about what others are seeing in the world of TR collectiables. I noticed a lack of buying and selling (partly due to the summer months) Seems like the big boys are still moving stuff and from what they stated most is going to Europe due to the lousy $ vs Euro. I have only sold stuff to the French, Italians and English as of late.

I wish I could buy more from the 2-3 US dealers I trust most...and benefit from my strong €. but when your collecting is very specific you have to try and acquire the pieces that emerge wherever they are. In the last year I have bought more from German dealers (Weitze, Detlev and Thomas Huss, especially)

Stuff that is priced right to the collector is still moving. Six daggers from my collection have gone in as many weeks. Those that actually made it to getting listed were gone in a couple of days.

Many people who enjoy collecting are not walking a financial tightrope & the present economic conditions have virtually no impact on their spending habit`s. Unfortunately I`m not amongst them!

I do think that some of the dealers are finding it more difficult but you only have to take one look to see why. The discerning collector with the $$ doesn`t want the poor conditioned stuff at silly humped up prices.

I think these are the best of times and worst of times. Most of my things are sold the same day i get them, in the past 6 months i have sold 15 daggers alone and they have sold in 5 minutes or less after i listed them in the classifieds. Its simply supply and demand. Vet's estates are getting very slim. High grade items go fast, low grade items go fast if the price is right, its the stuff in the middle thats been sittin around for awhile.
ps alot of daggers I have sold have been going overseas.. Smile
