Heck, I'll join in.

You made me think Dave. I don't think retired officers are ever discharged, although I do have my DD 214 and my retirement papers.

Greg,
Technically, I (and many others)are also "recallable" having never resigned our commissions, dispite, like you mentioned having a DD 214. But boy, are we in trouble if it ever comes down to us to keep anyone from "coming through the wire".

Manfred,

This is for you.

Andy - yes - that is what I thought. Retired (both officer and enlisted) are not technically "discharged" are they? So perhaps Dave can ad the lingo "Were you Honorably Discharged or Retired" instead.

Also, thanks to all here for your service. I also salute those who sign up for the tab who have served in nations besides the United States. I know the moderators will honor your service to your nation as well.

Wow that was quick. I'm not sure Vern is 100% ready, so everyone send him an email every hour or so asking about the tab Big GrinBig Grin

Manfred - "honerable" ? I pulled KP a few times too, but still got an "honorable". Besides, we in the Army were reliably informed that you Air Force guys even had people to make your beds. Big Grin

I remember MATS.

I was flown across the Atlantic from Frankfurt to Ft Dix in a propeller plane with the canvas seats bassakwards in December of 1963. Germany - Scotland - Ireland - Labrador - Ft Dix.

We got an apple to eat.

Greg: Gee, you found a picture of it. I never found one in any of the reference books at the Boeing library. I assumed it was such an embarrasment that they 'erased it from history'.
A common term regularly associated with that plane was 'AOCP' (Airplane out of commission for parts).

Dave: You think you had it bad. I was on a old B-25 flying from Omaha to Tucson sitting on an ammo crate in August. Froze my butt off at 12000ft and then landing at Tuscon at 120F on the runway. Didn't even get an apple.
