Great pick up!! You've been getting a lot of great stuff lately. Running ads or doing motel buys if you don't mind me asking?

Adam,
Actually word of mouth works great, the last grouping i bought i paid the veteren well, and because i did he put me onto another veteran and i paid him well for that group, i try not to rip veterans off as it was there blood sweat and tears that brought this stuff back.

The sash commemorates a sporting event held in conjunction with a Gau-wide celebration of the "liberation" of the Saar in 1935.

After WWI, the Saar was occupied with the British and French in control under authority of the League of Nations. It was stated that after 15 years of occupation, the populace would hold an election to settle its' status- to remain occupied, to join France or return to Germany.

The plebiscite wasn't a sure thing because after 1933, quite a few anti-Nazis moved there and they were vocal about remaining under the League of Nations. During 1934, many items were produced, especially tinnies and Party badges, with the words "Deutsch ist die Saar' to influence voters.

The populace voted almost 9-1 to return to Germany in 1935 and your sash is from the celebration of that event.
