I previewed an upcomming auction that covers civil War, WWI and WWII items. The two arm bands are course cloth with buttons on the back. I have never seen red MP arm bands nor the PMP. Does anyone know who they are for and what is PMP?

Regards

Jim Taylor

Hmmm..
I don't know. The USMC used red armbands with yellow lettering, but I haven't seen white letters. They look old.

Somewhere I have a little 'armbands of the world' book...

I am with Jerry... I have never seen this style and color combination before. Oddly cut letters. Perhaps not US? Perhaps Panama MP?

Here is an example of the USMC MP armband.

I got to talk to my brother that is a mp for the 744th or 756th i think. he said the extra p could be for prision. maybe the original owner was a transporter for prision. part of a mp duty he told me was for guarding prisioners. Sounds logical to me.
