I hope that this is the right section for these.....I found these in the window of a tailor shop today, in a basket of various lapel pins. No story behind them, as the owner said that they have been collected from garments that were either tailored or cleaned over the past decades, and then never picked up by the owners.
The pins were removed, and the clothing sold. I paid a dollar for all three. The "A-Bomb" lapel pins are pinbacks and were presented to participants in the Manhattan Project, the bronze for less that one year of service, and the silver for more than one year. The carded "V.A." lapel pin is unknown to me, and I can't find any info about it, online. I'm guessing that it's just a standard pin for a veteran, but if someone has seen it before and can tell me something about it, I'd be grateful. Cheers, Bob. ![]() |

Very Cool~!
and a very good buy for $1~!!! The Atomic pins are quite sought after. I have a silver in my own collection, but I haven't found a bronze yet. do you have a better photo of the VA one? it could be for a Veterans Administration worker. |

I never knew that A bomb pins existed. What would the value be on each grade of pin?
