Jack passed away early this morning in Hattiesburg, Ms. My wife and I were fortunate to get to know Jack at the last two SOS shows. A great man with a great sense of humor and pride in the USMC. He will surely be missed.

My youngest (David) was in Forrest General Hospital to pay his bill the day before and said that although at that time they were only admitting family, he did not think it was possible to get down the hallway due to the volume of cards, balloons, flowers and other tributes spilling into every space available! Today More than ever America needs heroes and now we are ONE short. Semper fi Jack you can not be replaced and are sorely missed.

I too was fortunate to be able to talk with him at the SOS.

We are set up near the back at the show so we get to see & hang out with the Veterans & Celebrity guests during down time. So it was nice to see that R. Lee Ermey was making sure that everyone who stopped by his tables was directed to see Jack, as R. Lee said; "Go and meet a real Hero". You could tell R. Lee was as much in awe as the rest of us.

I expect to see him again on post at heavens gates.
