Ok - for all you guys who will have money left over from Christmas, here is your gift to yourself. Wish there were more pictures, but it's going to be sold on GunBroker.com so I'm sure more will pop up.

Fact: A Hitler wasn't a hunter so why would he have owned a hunting rifle? This is just another case of "auction hype" with no reasonable justification.

"The company gave engraved guns to Hitler and other high-ranking German officials as it sought military contracts before World War II."

Even though Hitler didn't hunt, I'm sure more than just rifles were given to him as gifts from industry leaders.

"When you auction it off you never know who might buy it. ... We prefer it not fall into the hands of people who praise or laud Hitler, because there certainly are still people out there who do that," said Adam Schupack, associate director of the league's Chicago office.

If you decide to bid on this gun make sure when you collect it to turn up in jackboots, a false moustache and with a swastika armband. Idiots like this deserve to be ridiculed Smile.

This "Hitler" rifle to me is in the same category as the "Mussolini" dagger currently for sale at Manions. Without any provenance or documention attributing an item to a famous person is difficult. Selling it to an officer was certainly convienent since no capture paper would have been necessary which would have at least documented it as to when it was brought here.
Well the market will determine it's value.

I agree - simply because "AH" is etched into it, doesn't mean that it's Hitler's. It would be interesting if they can prove the link.
