Kris, If these were period, that 30 pound 5 shot cowboy buckle, would have yanked the drawers right off of the biggest strapping German officer that there was. And as being something sneaky as a "throw down", it wouldn't have even fooled Mickey Mouse ! Big Grin

JR,

Well, I have been saved a couple times by guys who were around before my time on early repros, but I was pretty sure they made something like this. For 5k a good machinist could do wonders with a simple platform such as this. Hell we used to make pistols in metal shop using basic plans. Looks like a 3 shot sub-caliber and if the top were closed it would be lower profile, certainly looks like newer manufacture though.

If they did make it I dont like this one.

There was at least one recognized period example of these belt buckle guns on display in a museum in Belgium. It was dimensionally the same size as a regular belt buckle except thicker. The piece contained four swing out barrels and was chambered in 32acp. Others have been reported in 22cal. It was stolen several years ago and to the best of my knowledge never recovered. The likelyhood of a legitmate one cropping up for sale on Ebay is probably slim to none.

There was a period example in the famous ANDY WRIGHT collection at SWIFT CURRENT until his death in the ninties. His collection went to Manions almost entirely there was also the gold AH walther. There was no collection in the world that could touch this one

Lots of discussion over the years about these; general consensus is, if I remember correctly, all made post-war.

If there was a patent during the war years, one would have to assume at least a couple were made.

I dont own the patent books.

Like I truly believe, that huge thing hanging off someones belt would have been hilarious. It would be like Michael Jackson's nose swinging to the left to open, and a single shot BB gun barrel emerges ! Big Grin

Yup, looks just like the one that I physically inspected a year ago. An MG42 in your jock strap would have been less conspicuous ! Big Grin

Rumor has it that the CIA invented a 22 cal pen gun that an agent could fire by putting it in his mouth and pressing the trigger with his teeth. Apparentely the hapless agent who got to test it knocked out his two front teeth so that idea got scrapped! Roll Eyes Big Grin

An MG 42 in your jockstrap less conspicious?? Not if you're Italian!! Cool Wink
