I have an chance to buy this.
A WWI Luger in nice condition. I was allowed to disassemble it and all parts match. It needs a good cleaning overall and the bore is dirty but don't know about pitting until cleaned.

The holster is WWII and stamped with proof marks but the belt loop strap is gone.
$475 total and its mine.
What would you do?

Vetter:
Considering the fact that the holster is worth a minimum of $100 repaired and assuming the Luger is as described it would already be at my house if it had been offered to me. Pictures would help but I think you are capable of describing an item accurately.
The only Lugers I've seen lately that were priced under $500 looked like they were ground dug on the Eastern front.

I bought the Luger and holster. I am going to give it a good cleaning and I will post pictures as soon as I can.
I had to dip into the money I was saving for a new camera.

Everything seems to be a trade off one way or another. Big Grin

Thanks Mark, I love this pistol.
I have not been able to put it down from the time I brought it home. The balance, feel and look of a Luger is beyond compare to any other pistol I have.
But I'm not going to carry this one, Its in der bunker. Cool

Vetter:
I'm glad you bought it. Cameras are a dime a dozen and by the time you save up for the next one the price will probably have gone down and the # of features gone up. However you'll still have the Luger!

Herr Wolf,
fortune cookies are strange little things indeed. Two weeks ago I had one that said something like
" Monday is a day you should stay home". What is strange is I should have.

I will post photos of the luger as soon as I can put it down and have a camera. Big Grin
