It's always nice to find them not switched over to 1911A1 configeration. Have you you checked it over yet to see how close it is to correct parts as issued?

This pistol falls within the serial number block for Springfield Armory for 1915.

I guess a lot of the early military issue 1911's did not survive in original condition. This one looks good inside and out. Years ago I shot bulls eye and remember having a old Springfield converted by a gunsmith named Clark to a 38 wad cutter. I would not do such a thing now.

I tried out the Springfield today and shot a ten shot group at 25 yards. Four of them pretty much went through the same hole. I guess the old war ho**** still has what it takes but that did not surprise me. The Springfield seem to like the Speer Lawman 230 gr FMJ loads.
