I talked over the phone with a lady that has a Luger for sale. She said it comes with a stock but the pistol was chromed long ago and was told the pistol was made prior to WWII.
I will take some pictures later in the day and post them. Is it worth the time and money? Thanks. |

Well its always worth a look.Even if the gun has been chromed its still a shooter.and the stock is worth getting.I think there are three choices as per what it is. Either a artillry luger or navy luger or it could even be a broomhandle is she said it had a stock, did she mention a holster?

No she didn't and I didn't ask a lot of questions. She called again and wants to wait four days to give her time to dig it out. I'll go have a look then. Does it cost much to remove the chrome? Thanks for the advise.

The ones that have seen have a hollow wood stock with a hinged wood lid see below.
That was held in a leather contrivance not shown. I don't see how the stock you show might fit. Dave ![]() |

Rick,
It's been chromed. Dave |

Dave,
I understand the stock isn't original, but does fit. How much is it worth chromed? |

I'd like to see how the stock fits on.
Value ? can't really tell you. From the pictures, the pistol was buffed before being plated. Lots of the detail is blurred. It was probably in poor shape and maybe rusted, which could be why it was cleaned and plated. I saw a much better refinished one (not chromed) at the Raleigh gun show last weekend. It had a repro, but correct, stock including the leather carrying rig and was priced at $1000 and attracted no attention at all. Dave |

Is the stock a commercial model for a C-96?

No...no such luck.It looks like a homemade stock. If the guns been chromed,i need to get my screen cleaned.Im guessing as a shooter its in the 4-5 hundred dollar range.

Got to love these old ladies and their lugers...Had one tell me she was offered $4k for her luger over the phone from a gun shop...I asked to see it and she brought out a Polish Radom....NICE but no luger...but it said it right on the side...9MM LUGER.
By the way looks like the stock is just a hollowed out Rifle stock. |

I will try and get another picture w/ the stock attached, but will take a long while.

It has very little value with the chrome refinish. Depending upon it's mechanical condition and the condition of the bore, it might not even been fit for a shooter.
