looks to have a plastic tip,30-06 maybe?...has FA and 10 04 stamp on base,,possibly for guard duty???...thanks to anyone who can help,,,robert

30/40 Krag maybe?? Can't guess on the tips. It's a rimmed cartrtidge so not 30:06.

Looks like Frankford Arsonal 30-40 Krag. I'm not sure about the bullet though.

Could be 30/03 cal. for the springfield 03, the 03 cartridge is rimmed.

Actually the 30-03 was an unrimmed cartridge. That was one of the advantages over the rimmed 30-40 Krag.

I believe they are 30-40 Krag non-lethal practice cartridges. The "bullets" are made from rolled and glued paper as to minimize any damage from accidental discharge. I have heard of these being issued for "Guard Duty", but I'm not sure if that was true.
