Hi guys, I acquired this helmet a few days ago from a local vet's estate. The helmet is,I believe, a Luft painted over with a camo scheme. The German owner's initials are on both the helmet and liner. Here are some pics.
Hi guys, Thanks for your comments. I take it these are scarcer than decaled helmets? Were there accepted camo patterns or did every soldat let his interior Picasso run loose?
Yes, they are more uncommon than a decaled Heer or Luftwaffe but would not say camo helmets are rare in itself. Nice condition or exotic ones are. Yes there are known patterns to WWII German camo helmets. Yours would be considered a "textbook" piece, nothing unusual about it. Do not clean it.
