Looking to buy my first helmet!
This is being sold as an original shell only.
It is a repaint with repro decals, new liner and strap.

It is marked SE66 and 9295.

Just want to know if the shell is an original M40 please.

Cheers

Rhys

It looks like an original WWII German helmet shell but the repaint and repro decals are not that well done in my opinion. If it is for re-enacting and it is cheap, IMO under $100 it may be worth it to you depending upon your budget. A helmet like this doesn't have much collector/resale value and more importantly it has little historical value.I would save my nickles for a helmet with original paint and decal. It may cost more but I believe that in the long run you would be much happier with a completly original lid.

Thank you for your comments. I am not looking for a serious collector's piece and it is not that expensive - just wanted to be sure the shell was OK.

Thanks again.
