Hi *,

Helmets are not my cup of tea, but I couldn't resist buying this one...

The only thing I know about it, that it's a german Heer WWII helmet (double decal).
The inside is stamped 7273 (probably serial number?) and SE64 (Maker & size?)

How about the decals, original or postwar?
It's not easy for me to determine, since I've got nothing to compare with, so I leave this to the experts here...

All remarks, information more than welcome!

Cheers,
Werner

double decals on an m-40 style helmet would be scarce,,but i dont like the decals,,,looks like reproductions to me,,i would have passed on this one based on what i see,,what about a shot of the liner,,maybe that would change my mind..

Decals are reproductions. Helmet looks to be post-war repainted as well. Sorry.

Thanks for the feedback militarymania & Perry

Don't mind the colors, my camera isn't that accurate when it comes to colors, the helmet looks like it's gray/blue but it's actually green.

How can you tell if the decals are repros and that the helmet was repainted?
(if I rub my fingernail over the paint and continue over the decal, I can't 'feel' the beginning of the decal, it seems to be one with the paint)

Here's a picture from the liner

liner looks ok,but i still stand by that the decals are reproductions,,,eagle doesnt have the detail that you can see in originals,,i must admit that it sometimes is difficult to tell the difference but i agree with previous poster that it looks like the helmet has been repainted,,just my 2c
