Ok just to start what I know about helmets can fit on the head of a pin, but I'm a DRK junkie and been looking for one of these for a while. Does this one good?

sorry but i dont like this one,,the exterior looks to have been sand papered and the interior looks black to me,,prompting me to believe this is an upgunned civic police helmet,,i also think you can see black paint under the grey of the exterior,,i would pass UNLESS this comes direct Vets hands,,,

My thought is that this could have been an original but painted over in black post-war. Then it was stripped using paint remover of some sort and sand paper. In any case, not a good example for a collection. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah that was my feeling on this one also. The decals looked to be a little low compared to any pics I have seen of these also but I was hoping...
Is it just me or does it seem that alot of these that pop up are fakes? Well I guess I will keep looking and hope to find a good one sometime.
Thanks for the help.

i would also caution you to beware/look twice before buying a repainted helmet,,my red cross helmet is painted grey, but where there are scratches,it is the bright silver of the aluminum shell that peeks through

there was a lid on here a couple of weeks back, which had a very similar `look` to it. in that, it too appeared to have been finely sanded, maybe in a bid to `age` it. i wonder if they originated from the same source?.
