My Japanese wife will not allow me to bring any Japanese war militaria into our house because she thinks the spirits associated with it may bring bad luck.

If I want to buy a brand new Japanese sword, that is fine.

Is she pulling my leg? Any similar stories?

Apparently war militaria from Germany and the United States is fine.

I've heard these ghost stories before. I know a collector whose Japanese wife was a believer! They're now divorced!

The first night I brought my SS NCO Police sword home. The lights kept turning themself's on through out the night. Who knows their may be something to it. All the years I have been in aviation you cant help but become a bit suspicious. We had a Huey whose tail number I still remember that was called Christine.

I used to show my Japanese wife my stuff!

It was a certain german overcoat she had bad feelings for years ago! I got rid of it!

But after 31 yrs of marriage, I got Pearl Harbored by her.

Should have kept the coat! Big Grin

I sense a bit of nervous laughter in your responses.

At any rate, I was hoping to hear from Japanese on the subject...
